I am the calm before your storm.
I am the candle lit beneath the parchment.
You wore a dress, It’s so worn down.
Let’s keep it quiet, let it slip into the sad sound.
To make a river, overdose.
Leave the chemicals overflowing.
Now keep the lights off and lock the door.
Hang this up, try to forget, and get myself out.
Forget you, forget you, forget.
Cut it out. Get this all out of my head.
You were the bite that sunk too deep.
You left your marks, scattered on my body.
I built up walls, you tore them down.
Let’s burn this whole thing, and dance in the fire .
When I was cold, this gave me heat.
When I was empty, It left me hungry.
When we were young, we understood.
The negativity in all this posture.
Forget you, forget you, forget.
Cut it out. Get this all out of my head.

Turning Point

Someone tore it out, left you uninspired, left you catching smoke, and feeling undesirable. Every stone you've thrown skips every wave in mind. It turns to sand between your fingers and darkens every light.
The shadows cascade down. Will you be here in the morning? Our eyes are closing tight. Would you lie with me in mourning?
The sun woke up and shouted out I'm here I'm here, I'm staying. Left only with the undertow, I've fallen to the beach. Well, work was selling poetry to anyone who'd buy it, I'd sell myself, a turning point just to prove my disbelief.

the spring was so sweet,
though fall was all I could taste.
Don't leave, it's too soon.

I'll take these flowers and these thoughts, and put them on a shelf collecting dust with all my faults.
The feeling is just for now.
I was just that simple boy you had.
I was thinking maybe that this wasn't just pretend.
But you got what you wanted.
It feels good and you love it.
I've got nothing but the motivation, and I'll be damned if I'm waiting all night.
I was right to call you out, and I still have my doubts (I've got nothing but the motivation)
Sometimes you still cross my mind.
Yeah, well nothing good comes from nothing.
yeah.
These songs keep playing through my head over and over and over again.
They're the kinds with the notes and the lyrics that I don't ever really want to think about.
Yeah, It's only gonna get much worse than this.
It's only gonna get much worse with those false teeth.
It's only gonna get much worse than this.
It's only gonna get much worse.
But you got what you wanted.
It feels good and you love it.
I've got nothing but the motivation, and I'll be damned if I'm waiting all night.

A subtle tease drifts about my head, and whispers.
"are you going home tonight?" "are you going home?"
"are you going home tonight?" "are you going home?"
"are you going home tonight?" "are you going home?"
"are you going home tonight?" "where are you going?"
A silent breeze hits me as I'm lying down on the train tracks writing.
a picture perfect melody. A song with so much bite, a picture perfect melody, too sweet for all "this"
"are you going home tonight?" "are you going home?"
"are you going home tonight?" "where are you going?"
Fireflies fly around the passerby and the sidewalk drawings. Is he leaving town tonight? or is he hanging 'round to drag another cigarette past his cold lips.. to drag ANOTHER CIGARETTE past his cold lips. "are you going home tonight?" "are you going home?"
"are you going home tonight?" "are you going home?"
"are you going home tonight?" "where are you going?"

I've got the feeling you're just calling it quits, I guess it's sinking in that you should find somewhere better. This mistake will leave you restless and torn, lying on the floor, begging for answers.
You can only count what's from the inside.
So take a second and you'll see right through your own reflection.
(I just want you to know)
What was once a bad habit has become an addiction..
Just slow it down, just slow it down, just slow it down..
Give me a call, and It's alright.
I've got the feeling you're just calling it quits, I guess it's sinking in that you should find somewhere better. This mistake will leave you restless and torn, lying on the floor, begging for answers.
You act like a ghost and I miss you dearly, so take a minute please come on back, don't create the distance.
(I just want you to know)
What was once a bad habit has become an addiction..
Just slow it down, just slow it down, just slow it down..
Give me a call, and It's alright.
It's alright. (just slow it down)
